The Bretton Woods Agreement was a monetary and exchange rate management system that attempted to encourage international financial cooperation through the introduction of a system of convertible currencies at fixed exchange rates, with the dollar 💲 trading for gold at $35 per ounce.

🔆 The International Monetary Fund (IMF)

International Monetary Fund (IMF) was established along with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development at the Conference of 44 nations held at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, the USA in July 1944. At present, 189 nations IMF के members है l India is a founder member of the IMF. Important functions of the IMF:-

The World Bank का purpose long-term economic development और economically developing nations की poverty ko reduce करना होता है l It accomplishes this by making technical and financial support available. The bank initially focused on rebuilding infrastructure in Western Europe following World War II and then turned its operational focus to underdeveloped countries. World Bank supports helps the country’s reform inefficient economic sectors and implements specific projects, such as building health centers 🏥 and schools 🏫 or making clean water 💧 and electricity 🔌 more widely available.
