Today we are going to discuss about the company जो भारत मे 80% सिगरेट का production करती है साथ ही ये company Foods, Snacks, Confectionery के अलावा Hair Care, और Personal Care से related products ka भी उत्पादन करती है।
110 साल पुरानी जिस company ki हम बात कर रहे है uska नाम है Indian Tobacco company जिसे ज्यादातर लोग ‘ITC‘ के नाम से जानते है l
India में ITC की शुरुवात साल 1910 में imperial tobacco of india Ltd. इस नाम से hui. साल 1970 में iska नाम बदल कर Indian Tobacco Company रखा गया l
The transformation story of ITC from largest सिगरेट manufacturer in India to the leading brand in FMCG sector is very interesting. तो चलिये शुरु करते है l
1910 में imperial tobacco company of india ltd. ki शुरुवात kolkata के राधा बाजार len में hui. In 1925 company started packaging and printing business which is still one of the best printing and packaging house in India.
Ajit Narain Haskar became the company’s first Indian chairman in 1969 and this was crucial in building up the Indian management for the company.
1970 में company का नाम Indian Tobacco company ldt. रखा गया l 1974 में company ka नाम बदलकर I.T.C Ltd. रखा गया l
In 1975 company enterd in hotel business. Tourism infrastructure create करने k साथ साथ employment generate करना company का main objective था l
1990 में ITC ने hotel business में बड़ी investment करने का फैसला किया और ITC मराठा, ITC grand central, ITC sonar , ITC gredaniya जैसे luxury hotels ki शुरुवात की l Right now ITC has 4- brands
Luxury collection, Welcome hotels,fortune hotels and Welcome heritage जिनकी India में 100 ज्यादा hotels है l
ITC ki शुरुवात British Tobacco company ने ki थी जो की ek foreign company है l British American Tobacco company is still the single largest shareholders जिनके पास ITC Ltd. के approximately 30% shares है l
करीब करीब 12% holding k साथ LIC दूसरा सबसे बड़ा share holder है l Government of india holds 11% shares in ITC.
Even if British American Tobacco companies are still the single largest shareholders , however their role is limited to a few board seats. They do not actively participate in the running of the company.
ITC ने 2003 में FMCG sector  में कदम रखा और सिर्फ 10 years के span में 10 thousand crore का revenue generate kiya हैl
जब ITC ki शुरुवात hui थी तब सिगरेट manufacturing ITC का main business था पर अब हिंदुस्तान के हर घर में ITC के food products और Personal Care products use kiye जाते है l
ITC is a large corporation consisting of a group of companies dealing in widely diversified services like –
• Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
• Hotels.
• Paperboards & Specialty Papers.
• Packaging.
• Agri-Business.
• Information Technology.
Itc के FMCG products की list काफी बड़ी है जिसमें Foods,Personal Care,Education, and Stationery products,Agarbatti and Matches का समावेश है l
ITC’s major food brands include aashirvaad ataa, Sunrise Foods, Sunfeast, Bingo, Sunfeast ,YiPPee etc
Personal care products include Major brands like Fiama Di Wills, Vivel, Savlon Soap & Handwash, Superia , Engage etc.
